A tragic loss. A hidden obsession.
A truth painted in shades of secret and shadow.
1855. Haunted by grief, Sophia Littleton is brought to the Mediterranean to recover her health. Yet, beneath the shimmering light of Sorrento and the wild coast of Sicily, enrapturing her into a sense of freedom, she finds herself bound to a marriage stifled by expectation.
1876. Raised in the bohemian splendour of Holland Park, Olivia Thompson has grown up in the shadow of her father’s artistic genius. When an enigmatic young pupil arrives, long-buried secrets begin to surface, threatening to unpick the delicate tapestry of her family's renown.
From the sun-drenched shores of Sicily to the Victorian art world of London's sophisticated salons, Captured in Art is a sensory, beautifully woven mystery about the secrets we bury - and the dangerous truths captured on canvas.

In an English shires village in the late 1950s, Robbie Bradbury and his friends enjoy a carefree childhood. One summer, into their midst comes a wild and burdened child from London, who touches all their lives and yet remains an enigma.
Against the quiet order of their rural upbringing, the six friends slowly uncover the complexities and tragedies that underlie the seemingly calm and ordered world they inhabit.
Fifteen years later, two of the friends meet by chance and set out to track their strange childhood playmate.

Wonderfully written, I felt that I knew the characters personally.
A charming novel, showing the other side of what we sometimes consider to have been 'a gentler time'. Very fluent descriptive passages give the reader a perfect sense of the time and place, and where the characters are set. Do read it!
Gather round, people
A well written novel with delightful story that flows deceptively between the characters and places they inhabit. The author summed it up - "when they were gone, the room was at a loss." Lovely.
An enchanting book. Takes older readers back to an apparently gentler age, where it was always summer. The story progresses over time, revealing a little more of the secrets lurking in the background. A true coming-of-age story, I was very sorry to finish this book; felt as if I knew the main character well.
