I’m delighted to share that my historical Victorian novel, Captured in Art, will be published on 1 October 2026.
It’s been a long, interesting, sometimes difficult but ultimately such a rewarding journey. From my chance discovery of the Aesthetic Era – which piqued my interest – came this novel, set in the world of the late Victorian art. I love it, and hope you will too.
The Blurb
A tragic loss. A hidden obsession. A truth painted in shades of secret and shadow.
1855. Haunted by grief, Sophia Littleton is brought to the Mediterranean to recover her health. Yet, beneath the shimmering light of Sorrento and the wild coast of Sicily, enrapturing her into a sense of freedom, she finds herself bound to a marriage stifled by expectation.
1876. Raised in the bohemian splendour of Holland Park, Olivia Thompson has grown up in the shadow of her father’s artistic genius. But behind the gilded screens and sensory brilliance of Turret House lie whispers of a past her parents refuse to name. When an enigmatic young pupil arrives at the studio, long-buried secrets begin to surface, threatening to unpick the delicate tapestry of her family’s renown.
From the sun-drenched shores of Sicily to the Victorian art world of London’s sophisticated salons, Captured in Art is a sensory, beautifully woven mystery about the secrets we bury — and the dangerous truths captured on canvas.
